Got a package in the mail a couple of weeks ago that I wasn’t expecting and inside was a wonderful old toaster for Island Girl from Pam’s sister. It’s perfect!! Thanks, Barb.
As you can also see, the laminate for the countertops is going in. Had our caregiver today and I didn’t want Pam with me when I did the stinky gluing, so it was a good day for it. Ran out of time with one piece still to go, but that’s OK.
The entry for the bathroom has been an ongoing project, laminating the upper and lower parts, one piece of Baltic birch at a time.
It’s not much different than the original, just a smaller opening and more curves, but I’m happy with the way it looks.
And the old vanity with its curved top is morphing into the new computer station. That curve was a tough one.

What a sweet sister-in-law...and a very cute toaster.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful woodwork Steve.
ReplyDeleteCool toaster! Love it. And the woodwork is beautiful. Superb craftmanship!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynetta, Norm, and Mike!
ReplyDeleteThis part of the work is so much fun I "almost" wish I had a longer trailer so I had more of it to do.

I absolutely adore all those curves in your casework. Just beautiful. You are so gonna love the toaster too, the perfect accessory. I've got the one that was a wedding present to Mom in '57 and use it on nearly every outing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dacia.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing all that teak in Elvis!
